Communication between people is a multilayered process. Because of this fact, many of us feel inadequate in our attempts to understand others and be understood. Whenever any two people try to communicate, there are at least two levels to that communication: The overt message consists of the words we hear and the gestures we see. The hidden message has more to do with the intent behind the words. Most of us do not have the knowledge, the skill, or the confidence to address the often hidden intent of another’s communication – especially if the intent has something to do with trying to control an unknown outcome. People try to manipulate the outcome of their interactions all the time and if they’re not doing that, they’re trying to bolster up their egos. In my research, I discovered that almost 90 percent of all human communication comes from the usually unconscious intent to control.
While this article is written for those involved in dating, its information is also very appropriate and insightful for any of us in established relationships. Truth in Dating is about using honesty as a “practice. If you answered yes to any of these questions, rest assured that you are not alone. In my workshops and conversations with research participants, almost everyone answered yes to most of them.
Telling the truth is not easy. Yet when you allow yourself to be real and spontaneous, you’re more radiant, alive, and attractive.

With age, the percentage of the population that has never married decreases. In Canada and the United States , between 5 and 10 percent of older adults have never been married. As in most societies where approximately 90 to 95 percent of adults do marry, marriage remains the normative and expected life choice, and the connection between marriage and adulthood continues to be reaffirmed.

Artichokes Food historians confirm artichokes descended from their wild cousins cardoons. While the wild variety was consumed in ancient times, modern artichokes, as we know them today, first surface during the Medieval ages. These “Old World” vegetables were introduced to America by European settlers. Jerusalem artichokes , a “New World” food related to sunflowers, are a completely unrelated vegetable. Chinese artichokes aka Japanese artichokes are completely unrelated.
What are artichokes and how long have we been eating them? This is fortunate, because there is confusion enough created by the numerous varities of the globe artichoke grown around the world. How do I get new friends?? Weezy The answer can be as short as the question. If you want a friend, be a friend. Whatever we wish to have, we must be willing to give away. Who needs a friend? Join clubs and organizations that encourage people to work together. Always remember that as much as you need a friend, a future friend needs you.
